When we make the distinction between an individual person’s intelligence or ability to love — and the sense of intelligence or love as something in and of itself, we begin to understand it as a force beyond human control an underlying reality that is at the core of our experience, that is supporting it, that is supporting all that is true and real in us, the essence of who we are, and what really matters to us. It’s not true that those with the most physical power are the most powerful, because if it were true, the big woolly mammoth would be in control. |
