The problem isn’t those who take advantage of other people; it is what causes those other people to give their power away and let themselves be manipulated. Our physical body is, instead, a vehicle for the expression of who we are, not who we actually are. “I have a question about healing past traumas. I recently recovered a traumatic memory of being kidnapped and assaulted when I was a teenager. ..’ “When you recently started saying to Donna how you really are responding to her, you started saying what you saw from your own eyes, which then enabled you to start defining reality for yourself. That was empowering for you and made a big difference in your relationship.” “Your parents probably had an attitude that it’s a moral mandate that you must do what your parents tell you to do. You must be obedient, no matter what they say, just for the sake of being obedient, rather than look at what they’re saying, make sense of it and decide, ‘OK, this is how they feel about it. Does this make sense for me?’ This dictates that you must not understand life from your own perspective, your own understanding of what is true and real, in order for you parents to have control over you. And this basically is what is handed down from generation to generation.” |
